COVID-19
COVID-19 is the disease caused by a new coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2. WHO first learned of this new virus on 31 December 2019, following a report of a cluster of cases of ‘viral pneumonia’ in Wuhan, People’s Republic of China.
Symptoms of COVID-19
People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Anyone can have mild to severe symptoms. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

Fever or chills

Dry Cough

Shortness of breath or difficulty in breathing

Fatigue

Muscle or body aches
-
Headache
-
Loss of taste or smell

Sore throat

Congestion or runny nose

Nausea or vomiting

Diarrhea

Among those who have developed the symptoms, mostly, around 80% of patients, recover from the disease without necessitating hospital treatment and nearly around 15% of patients, become seriously ill and require oxygen and only 5% become critically ill and need intensive care.

Complications leading to death may include respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), sepsis and septic shock, thromboembolism, and/or multiorgan failure, including injury of the heart, liver or kidneys and rare neurological complications such as strokes, brain inflammation, delirium are observed.

Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like high blood pressure, heart or lung disease, diabetes, obesity or cancer, seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness.

People of all the ages, who experience fever and/or cough associated with difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath, chest pain or pressure, or loss of speech or movement, should immediately seek medical care. Please consult your Doctor immediately.

What are post COVID long-term symptoms and complications?

Some people are experiencing a range of new or ongoing symptoms that can last weeks or months after first being infected with the virus that causes COVID-19. Unlike some of the other types of post-COVID conditions that only tend to occur in people who have had severe illness, these symptoms can happen to anyone who has had COVID-19, even if the illness was completely asymptomatic, mild, moderate, severe or if they had no initial symptoms.
Some of the common signs and symptoms of Post COVID-19 complications observed after recovery includes:
